From July 9 to 11, University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organized a training course on Medicine and Life Science for students from Fujian Medical University (FJMU). A total of 29 students from FJMU’s School of Basic Medical Sciences participated in the program.

The intensive three-day program was rich in content. It featured specialized lectures delivered by professors from FHS on the topics of “The Journey of Stem Cells: From Lab to Clinic” and “Immunomodulatory Mechanisms and Tumor Immunotherapy.” The students also had the opportunity to tour the FHS laboratories. During the closing ceremony, a student representative shared that the training in Macau was highly rewarding. They noted that the professors introduced new, cutting-edge topics and developments in the medical field, which deeply interested all the students. The representative expressed a strong hope to return to the University of Macau for longer-term studies in the future.

Founded in 1937, Fujian Medical University is one of the earliest public undergraduate medical institutions in China. It is a “Double First-Class” university in Fujian Province, focusing on medicine while promoting the coordinated development of multiple disciplines, with a comprehensive talent cultivation system. The university is jointly supported by the Fujian Provincial People’s Government and the National Health Commission. It serves as Fujian’s hub for health talent training, medical science research, and healthcare services. The Basic Medicine program at its School of Basic Medical Sciences has twice been selected as a “peak discipline” in Fujian’s “Double First-Class” Initiative and serves as the leading institution for the Fujian Basic Medicine Discipline Alliance.

CCE will develop more training programs for university students, aiming to foster greater exchange and cooperation between mainland Chinese universities and UM.
