From 11 to 15 August 2025, the University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST, aka United Nations University Institute in Macao) once again jointly organized a training program for university students themed “Talent Development for International Organizations and Sustainable Development”. The 25 participants were primarily from Harbin Engineering University, with several other students from Harbin Institute of Technology and Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology.

The program activities were conducted collaboratively at two locations: the UM campus and the UNU Macau. The courses were delivered by senior professors and expert scholars from both institutions. The 5-day training was rich and intensive, covering a wide range of topics including how innovation drives economic growth, the role of international organizations and technological development in advancing regional economics, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): technology and data applications, approaches for sustainable development, and a career development workshop.

UNU-IIST is a formal unit under United Nations University (UNU) which is part of the UN family of organizations. UNU-IIST is a UN global think tank on Information Communication Technologies for Development. CCE and UNU-IIST will strengthen cooperation and jointly cultivate talents suitable for the development of the new era.
