From November 25 to December 2, 2025, the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the University of Macau (UM), in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), successfully held Study Tour for Elite Talents in the Greater Bay Area in Hong Kong and Macao for 19 students from various majors at Yunnan Agricultural University (YAU).

The 8-day training program featured a tight schedule consisting of a series of thematic lectures with rich content, conducted entirely in English. Topics covered in Hong Kong and Macao included “Data Mining in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, “Workplace Leadership and Motivation”, “Cross-cultural New Media and Advertising Marketing”, “Fintech and Blockchain Applications”, and “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development”. In addition to the lectures, the students visited the Currency Museum and the Mock Casino at FBA of UM, gaining a deeper understanding of Macao’s currency history and its leading industry. Through this dual-city study model, the students experienced the local culture and landscapes of both Hong Kong and Macao, as well as teaching styles distinct from those in the Chinese mainland. They broadened their horizons and gained fruitful results, expressing hope for future opportunities to study in Hong Kong and Macao again.

Yunnan Agricultural University was founded in 1938, originating as the School of Agriculture of National Yunnan University. In 1958, it was established independently as the Kunming College of Agriculture and Forestry. In 1962, Diannan University and Dianxi University were merged into the Kunming College of Agriculture and Forestry. In 1971, it merged with the Yunnan Agricultural Labor University to form Yunnan Agricultural University. In 2009, 2013, and 2014, relying on the university’s educational management resources, the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government established the Yunnan Rural Cadre Academy, the Yunnan Food Safety Management Academy, and the Yunnan Plateau Characteristic Agriculture Industry Research Institute, respectively. In 2013, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education approved the construction of the New Rural Development Research Institute of Yunnan Agricultural University. In 2024, following an agreement signed between the People’s Government of Yunnan Province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, it became a university co-sponsored by both entities.

This training activity marks another successful collaboration with HKU SPACE. Through cross-city academic exchange, it continues to promote the development of a new model of cooperation in continuing education within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
