The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the University of Macau (UM) collaborated with the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) to organize a training course titled “Modernization and Internationalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine” for 26 outstanding students from Hebei University of Chinese Medicine from December 15 to 19, 2025.

The class activities were conducted on the UM campus, with lectures delivered by professors from ICMS. The five-day training content was rich and intensive, closely following the frontier trends of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) development. The thematic lectures covered core topics such as “Development and Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Big Health Industry,” “Innovation and Technology Management of Traditional Chinese Medicine,” “Comparison and Difference between Chinese and Western Clinical Medicine,” and “Quality Control of Traditional Chinese Medicine.” In addition, the students visited ICMS labs to gain an in-depth understanding of UM’s top-tier research facilities and achievements in the field of TCM modernization.

At the closing ceremony, Ms. Gao Shuhui, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office at HEBCM, stated that having attended the lectures throughout the course, she felt the content was very advanced and in-depth. She initially worried that the students might find it difficult to absorb, but through the final group summary reports and sharing sessions, she found that the students were well-prepared and had gained significant insights, demonstrating excellent learning results. She thanked UM for the meticulous arrangements and encouraged the students to apply what they had learned to their future studies and practice. Prof. Matthew Ting-chi Liu, Director of UM CCE, welcomed the faculty and students of HEBCM to visit UM again for exchange and training.

CCE is committed to promoting high-quality continuing education. This training activity further strengthened the cooperation between universities in Macao and Chinese mainland in academic exchange and talent cultivation, jointly promoting the modernization and internationalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
