The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the University of Macau (UM), in collaboration with the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE), hosted a “Training Course on Top-Notch Talent Cultivation in Science and Technology Innovation in the Greater Bay Area” for 18 students from Jiangsu University in Hong Kong and Macao from January 19 to 22, 2026.

The four-day program featured a compact schedule with a series of specialized lectures delivered entirely in English. Students attended four lectures at HKU and UM, covering topics such as “Emerging Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Technologies”, “Science and Technology Innovation”, “Intelligent Manufacturing” and “Applied Electronics and Automation”.  Additionally, students visited the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI at UM. Guided by Prof. Yatao PENG, they gained insights into Macao’s advanced research and development in nano-integrated circuits. Through this dual-city study tour in Hong Kong and Macao, students experienced the unique culture and teaching styles of both cities, which differ from those in Chinese mainland. The program broadened their horizons and was highly rewarding, with students expressing a desire to return for further study in the future.

Jiangsu University has consistently ranked among the top 100 universities in China in terms of comprehensive strength. In 1978, it was designated by the State Council as one of the 88 key national universities. This training program marks another collaboration with HKU SPACE. Through cross-city academic exchange, CCE aims to continuously promote the development of a new model of continuing education cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
