A tailor-made certificate course in the theories and applications of big data big, co-organised by the University of Macau’s (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and the Macao Association of Young Employees in the Gaming Industry (AMTIJ), has ended with success. The certificate awarding ceremony was held on 17 April 2021. A total of 40 participants from local integrated resorts within the gaming industry received certificates. Guests including Thomas Li, president of AMTIJ, Benjamin Loi, director-general of AMTIJ, Prof. Zhiguo Gong, professor of FST, UM, Prof. Jerome Yen, Distinguish Professor of FST, UM, and Prof. Matthew Liu Ting Chi, director of the CCE, UM were present. During the ceremony, Mr. Jay Pun, being the representative of the class, shared learning reflection for all students. Thomas Li and Prof. Matthew Liu delivered remarks to recognize students’ efforts and encourage students to keep learning in the future. Most students expressed that they not only acquired useful knowledge and skills about big data application but also recognized the wonderful learning experiences in UM.
