The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), in collaboration with Macao Centre for Research and Development in Advanced Materials of the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering (IAPME), hosted the “Study Tour to UM for the Chemistry Elite Talent Innovation Experimental Class ” for 31 students from the Department of Chemistry, College of Arts and Sciences, Beijing Normal University (BNU) on 17 April 2026.

The program featured a seminar and a campus visit. In the morning, a specialized lecture titled “The Mystery of Chemistry” was delivered by IAPME’s professor. In the afternoon, students visited the IAPME labs to gain an in-depth understanding of research progress and achievements in fields such as chemical engineering and emerging materials in Macao. Led by Student Ambassadors, they also toured the UM Library, the University Gallery, and a Residential College. Through this program, students experienced UM’s English-medium instruction firsthand, immersed themselves in the vibrant learning atmosphere, and appreciated the beautiful campus scenery.

Established in November 2021, the Department of Chemistry of the College of Arts and Sciences at Beijing Normal University is a key initiative under BNU’s “One Body, Two Wings” strategic framework, the national “Double First-Class” university discipline development plan, and its commitment to serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Department is dedicated to becoming a distinctive and competitive institution for chemistry education and research, with remarkable achievements in industry-academia-research integration and significant influence in the field.
