In August 2025, UM and Tai Fung Bank signed a cooperation framework agreement to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership, aiming to promote interaction and exchange in talent development, financial education, and innovation and entrepreneurship. To further implement the sustainable development aspects of the agreement, CCE co-organized with BRTC and Executive Education of FBA to tailor a course on Trends in Green Financial Technology Development for 60 staff from Tai Fung Bank on December 12, 2025.
Prof. Matthew Ting-Chi LIU, Director of CCE and BRTC, and Coordinator of Executive Education, stated that the course was very successful. He was impressed with active participation, which would further enhance the cooperation between CCE and Tai Fung Bank. He also pointed out that the course content closely followed the global trend and aligned with the Macao SAR government’s “1+4” development strategy, which would support the sustainable development of banking industry in Macao.
The course was delivered by Prof. Henry Chun Kwok LEI, Associate Professor of Business Economics, and Associate Head of Department of Finance and Business Economics Programme Coordinator of MSc in Data Science (Financial Technology) of FBA. He addressed several key topics, including application, risks and future trends of financial technology, as well as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) concepts and their impacts, management, and strategic opportunities in the banking industry. Through a combination of theory explanation and experience sharing, participants gained a deep understanding of the latest developments in green financial technology and its applications in the banking industry. The course also included an interactive Q& A session. The participants actively asked questions and discussed with the professor to explore the challenges and opportunities of green financial technology development.
Jiang Xin (President of Tai Fung Bank), Chan Kim Peng (Consultant), Shen Jian Wei and Chen Qifeng (Vice President), and Yang Zhihong (Senior Business Manager) attended the course. Also, senior management, department heads of head office, branch managers of both Macao and Hengqin attended the course; whereas, presidents, vice presidents and assistants to president of different branches from Chinese mainland attended the course online.
All participants highly praised the course effectiveness, which marked a significant progress in the cooperation between CCE and Tai Fung Bank in the field of sustainable development.
In the future, CCE, BRTC and Executive Education of FBA will continue to launch more high-quality training programmes to foster collaboration with local enterprises.
