From July 24th to 31st, The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), collaborated with HKU SPACE to offer a training program for university students from Mainland China. Training course on New Quality Productive Forces – Artificial Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Studies was attended by 53 students, primarily from Northwestern Polytechnical University, along with a small number of students from Zhejiang University City College and Qinghai Minzu University.

The eight-day training program, conducted entirely in English, consisted of a series of thematic lectures with rich academic content. Topics included “The Latest Developments in Artificial Intelligence,” “Big Data and Business Intelligence,” “Smart Energy,” “AI & VR/AR,” “Fundamentals of AI: Logic in Computer Science and Database Systems,” “AI and Smart Cities,” and “Theoretical Foundations of Big Data and AI.” In addition, the students visited the SKL-IOTSC to learn about its latest scientific research achievements and development projects. Through this training, the students experienced the culture and lifestyle of both Macao and Hong Kong, as well as a teaching style different from that in Mainland China. They broadened their horizons and gained valuable knowledge, expressing their hope to have future opportunities to study in Hong Kong and Macao again.

In recent years, Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) has sent outstanding students to Macao for training on multiple occasions, actively supporting students in overseas study and exchange to broaden their perspectives. CCE will continue to develop more high-quality training programs to promote exchange and cooperation between leading universities in Mainland China and UM.
