The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) recently collaborated with United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST, aka United Nations University Institute in Macau) to organize a training course for undergraduate students from Universities in China during Jan 31st to Feb 3rd. The training course is held on the UM campus in cooperation with the United Nations University Institute in Macau. And all modules are taught by professors and scholars from both sides.

20 students are from Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Guangdong Ocean University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology, Fuzhou University, Chengdu University, Zhengzhou University, Anhui University of Science and Technology, University of London and Sanda University. The 5-day training is rich in content, covering big data innovation, China’s political and economic overview, regional economic and technological development, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Digital Technology and Sustainable Development, and Youth Leaders in digital life.

UNU-IIST is a formal unit under United Nations University (UNU) which is part of the UN family of organisations. UNU-IIST is a UN global think tank on Information Communication Technologies for Development.

CCE and UNU-IIST will strengthen cooperation and jointly cultivate talents suitable for the development of the new era.
