The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) held an online training course “Certificate in Intensive Portuguese for Beginners” for 38 students of Cross-border E-commerce of Shunde Polytechnic from May 6th to July 1st.

In order to comply with the SAR government’s epidemic prevention policy, the training course was conducted in the form of online by ZOOM, allowing students to interact with instructor through the Internet. The course cultivates students’ basic Portuguese communication skills, enabling them to carry out basic communication in daily life. Completed this course, students can do some basic daily conversations in Portuguese.

As a platform for business cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, Macao has always been committed to promoting Chinese-Portuguese bilingual education and cultivating Chinese-Portuguese bilingual talents. And Shunde Polytechnic is cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents for Foshan Shunde, an important manufacturing town in Guangdong Province. Macao is playing the leading role in Portuguese language education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, so that this training cooperation is of great significance to promoting education cooperation and talent exchange in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
