The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) offered three courses in financial technology and artificial intelligence between March and June 2021. Offered for the first time by the centre, the courses attracted more than 70 participants and have been included in the Continuing Education Development Plan of the Education and Youth Development Bureau.

The three courses were ‘Financial Technology’, ‘Artificial Intelligence’, and ‘Value Investing and Technical Analysis’. Through the courses, participants learned about the history and the latest developments of financial technology and blockchain, practical applications of artificial intelligence, methods of building artificial intelligence systems, as well as how to use analytical techniques to predict stock market trends.  Participants whose attendance rate equal to or exceeds 80 per cent and who have passed the examination will receive a certificate issued by the CCE.
