The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organized a training course on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for students from several mainland higher education institutions during January 20 to 24. Total 58 students joined the training course, they are from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Harbin Engineering University, and Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology.
The five-day training course is rich in content and taught in English by UM professors and senior instructors. The topics include “Fundamental of Artificial Intelligence: Computer Science & Database Systems”, “Big Data and Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionary Development”, “Financial Technology (FinTech): Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence”, and “Emerging Big Data and AI Techniques”. They also visited UM’s State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC). At the closing ceremony, a student representative expressed that they had a good chance to learn more about the history and culture of Macao. The training course broadened their horizons and provided a wealth of valuable experiences.
CCE continues to offer training course and promote collaboration between UM and higher education institutions in mainland.
