The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) organized a training programme for university students on the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and Big Data” from October 4 to 5, 2025. The programme was attended by 54 participants from Nantong University and Suzhou University of Science and Technology. The training featured rich and intensive content, taught entirely in English by UM professors. The lecture topics included “Big Data and AI: A Revolutionary Development” and “The Current Applications and Developments of AI Technology.” The participants experienced the high-quality, all-English teaching from UM’s international faculty and were left with a wonderful impression of the beautiful campus.

Nantong University was first established in 1912, originating from the private Nantong Medical School and Nantong Textile School founded by the renowned modern industrialist and educator, Mr. Zhang Jian. In 2004, the former Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology, and Nantong Normal College were merged to form the new Nantong University. It is a comprehensive university jointly established by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and the Ministry of Transport, and a designated institution under the Jiangsu High-level University Development Peak Plan. Since 2021, the university has continuously sent student groups to UM to participate in short-term cross-border training programmes.

Suzhou University of Science and Technology was formed through the merger of the former Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection and the former Suzhou Railway Teachers College. It is a full-time general university with a primary focus on engineering, complemented by the coordinated development of multiple disciplines including science, liberal arts, management, and arts. The university is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) and the Jiangsu Provincial Government and was rated “Excellent” in the Ministry of Education’s Undergraduate Teaching Assessment.

CCE will continue to develop more training programmes for university students to promote exchange and cooperation between universities in Mainland China and the University of Macau.
