The University of Macau’s (UM) Centre for Continuing Education and Faculty of Business Administration recently co-organised a training course with Sun Yat-sen University for company executives from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The event attracted a total of 50 entrepreneurs, including CEOs and board chairmen of different companies listed on Hong Kong and Guangzhou’s stock exchanges. The course aimed to help participants understand the characteristics of the GBA and to create a network to align the focuses of the different companies with China’s national strategy, in order to promote the development of the GBA.

The course included three lectures on different topics, namely ‘differentiation strategy for marketing and brand management for high-end service industry in Macao’, ‘management of family businesses’, and ‘the diversification of Macao’s economy and the establishment of a platform for Sino-Portuguese collaboration’. Participants exchanged ideas with one another and learned more about Macao’s recent developments.

During the course, the organisers also arranged for the students to visit two companies in Macao, namely MGM Macau and Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited.
