The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) successfully completed online training course for over 50 teachers of Xian Traffic Engineering Institute from February 21st to 24th. The course title is “Distance Learning (UMLive) Course – Innovation Management and Effective Teaching Methods”, the rich course content has won good feedback from participants.

In response to the epidemic, the training was held online by ZOOM. There are 5 lectures in 4 days, allowing UM Professors to share and communicate with participants. The lectures include: “Current Situation of Education Development in Macao”, “Teaching under the epidemic: building interactive courses in the new norm”, “How Macao can catch up – the key to breakthroughs in the development of STEM innovation and technology education”, “Teaching Method Promotion – Real Success Case Methodology and Classroom Management” and “We are not production robots: Teaching methods and routes to inspire creativity”.

Xian Traffic Engineering Institute is a full-time general undergraduate institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education. Founded in 1994, it is the only general undergraduate university in Shaanxi Province that focuses on Smart City Rail Transit System. In recent years, Macao has also been actively developing towards a smart transportation city. In this training activity, teachers from the two schools have enhanced understanding and communication, which is helpful for promoting educational cooperation and talent exchange between Macao and the Mainland.
