The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) successfully completed online summer training course for around 100 teachers of Shunde Polytechnic from August 21st to 26th. The course title is “Distance Learning (UMLive) Course – Training course on Teaching Innovation and Reform for Backbone Teachers”, the rich course content has won good feedback from participants.

In response to the epidemic, this training has been adjusted to organize training activities online by ZOOM in accordance with government guidelines. There are 7 lectures in 5 days, allowing UM Professors to share and communicate with participants. The lectures include: “The governance structure, development and teaching characteristics of the University of Macau”, “Multi-dimensional construction of technological innovation and transformation system”, “The Ideas and Practice of Guaranteeing the Academic Quality of Higher Education”, “Macao Education Policy and Teacher Professional Development”,
“International exchanges and running schools in universities”, “Making good use of the online teaching platform to develop high-quality curriculum design and distance teaching” and “A truly successful case teaching method and class management”.

Established in the March of 1999 and located in Foshan, Shunde Polytechnic is a higher vocational educational institution approved by the Ministry of Education and is primarily funded by the Shunde municipal government. This training event has enhanced understanding and communication between the two schools. It is of great significance to the promotion of education cooperation and talent exchange in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is also an important manifestation of Macao’s higher education strengthening the in-depth cooperation between Guangdong and Macao.
